Hi this is Shoshana Eisner from Operation Golda HQ.
It is day 305. Day 305 since our hostages were brutally kidnapped.
It feels unnaturally still as we sit here, holding our breath. Waiting to see what the Forces of Evil will unleash on our beloved country. Our prayers are that like last time, their ill-directed firepower will be easily repelled. We are so grateful to be supported by strong countries, who possess a strong moral compass.
Today, I come to you because once again, Israel has asked for more of these community first responder kits. As we know, on October 7, Israel was caught unaware and ill-prepared and as a result too many good people died, were injured and kidnapped.
Thank G-d, although Israel is vulnerable right now, Israel is not unaware and they are constantly refining their plans to protect the people within their borders, irrespective of their religion.
One of the biggest issues was that first responders couldn’t get to injured people to treat them, sometimes for up to 24 hours. Originally from far away Australia, we reached out to Israel and offered them Trauma supplies and Israel gratefully accepted. A shidduch, (a match) was made between Operation Golda and Magen David Adom Israel to source and deliver to Israel exactly the trauma supplies that were needed. And with your help, we sourced and sent about $600,000 of these supplies. And in person, I have seen those specific items we sent in the warehouses and supply rooms of Magen David Adom in Israel.
As part of their readiness plan, Israel asked Operation Golda to source Community Responder First Aid Kits. Our first kits cost around $200 each and were big kits for actual first responders.
Since December the idea was to prepare 100,000 small and inexpensive kits to spread out in case of clinics or ambulances being inaccessible like on October 7. In all of the vulnerable communities, there live Doctors, Nurses, Physios, Pharmacists, Medics and others with medical training. They could be upskilled in trauma first aid but they needed the sophisticated trauma supplies at hand in case of an emergency. We were given exacting specs to source. The goal was to have a kit which was handy, light and small. Could be attached to someone’s belt, be on the back of a bicycle. Here is an exact sample from the factory in China. It looks like an ordinary first aid kit but it isn’t. It contains sophisticated trauma supplies which can temporarily manage extreme situations like blown off limbs, burns and gunshot wounds. We have been sending these kits since January. And word is getting around. About 2 weeks ago at midnight, I, a suburban housewife in my PJs, in my Bondi Junction kitchen found myself talking to the Mayor of Nahariya. Nahariya is in the North, near the magnificent grottoes of Rosh HaNikra. This is an area which is mainly not evacuated but very much in the firing line. They had heard that we were sending these Community First Responder Kits and they needed them. I could connect them with the right people.
We have a follow-up order for 10,000 of these kits which will be ready to ship in approx. 4 weeks. We are currently short $33,320 USD off this order which with today’s exchange rate converts into $51,443 Australian Dollars.
At the moment, our community is being constantly asked for money for truly important causes. My intention is that this Operation Golda’s Emergency Fund will close its fundraising channel after this plus one other project, which is that I would love to raise funds for a MDA medi-electric vehicle to zip around Israel delivering emergency medical care with a Kangaroo on it all in honour of the magnificent group Operation Golda.
But back to these kits. Each of these kits costs around $10 Australian. If you can, please help.
If it appeals to you to be buying something very tangible that will save lives in Israel, please donate to Operation Golda for this project. $1,800 will buy 180 kits to be distributed. $180 will buy 18 kits. $10 will buy 1 kit.
Please help if you can and also talk to everyone you know.
When our enemies put pressure on the Jewish people, like now. They unleash our special powers. Their pressure turns our coal into a diamond. We forget any petty squabbles and focus on looking after each other.
Israel is going to get through this. And with the help of good people big and small, around the world we can do what we can to minimise the damage.
May our good deeds be redeemed into Good News.
May our Hostages be returned safe and soon.
May all who are fighting for us be protected.
May all of the innocents be protected.
May all of the wounded, physically and emotionally be granted speedy and complete recovery.
And May the leaders of the world make good decisions.
If you can help; please donate at: https://chai.org.au/cause/operation-golda/
And otherwise, please share this with everyone you know. Am Yisrael Chai!
Our Project Story
🇮🇱 As we now know, on October 7 when the entire country rushed to their shelters, every family told their kids the same sentence. “Don’t worry, my darlings. The army/police will be here any minute and will save us”. And sadly, we also know that in many urgent cases the support took up to 11 hours to arrive.
(We also know that medical clinics were deliberately targeted and destroyed first to increase the trauma and loss of life).
🇮🇱 🇮🇱 One of Magen David Adom Israel’s projects at the moment is working to prevent any residents of Israel from ever being in this position again. The project is called Magen, which translates as Shield or Protector. (Like Magen David Adom the Red Shield of David.)
🇮🇱 🇮🇱 The goal of the Magen program is to have a further 100,000 people around the country specifically trained in trauma first aid. And in the case of an emergency, they will need trauma supplies.
🇮🇱 This kit looks like a regular first aid kit but it isn’t. It contains specialty trauma supplies that can save lives. They want each of these 100,000 extra people to have one of these kits handy at all times. A kit that is light enough to attach to your belt, chuck in your bag or attach to your bike.
🇮🇱 And they have asked for Operation Golda’s help once again. They have asked us to order and pay for another 10,000 kits within the next 5 weeks. We need $100,000 AUD.
🇮🇱 Operation Golda has been raising funds and buying trauma supplies for Israel since October 7. At this point we have a proven record of delivery that we have sent more than 25,000kg of specialty trauma supplies to Israel at a cost of more than $650,000.
🇮🇱 So, once again, I am asking for your help. And even if you can’t donate right now, can you please talk about Operation Golda and what we are doing and share these links to your whatsapp groups.
